The Psychology of Language
Here is a list of links to researchers in the psychology of language with additional ones to laboratories and programs. This will help you learn more about language how important it is in our today’s culture on how we communicate with people. Take a look at our valuable resources to help guide you in your psychology research and studies.
As a developed tool innate to human beings, language presents one of our greatest differences from the animal kingdom. Language allows us to efficiently communicate complex ideas and express our needs in order to fulfill them. As a uniquely human form of interaction, language has become a topic of psychological debate within the last couple of decades. Psychologists focus mainly on child development and language acquisition as starting points for linguistic inquiry. These developmental stages allow scientists to understand how a child moves from uttering a few words to speaking in entire sentences and how they gain understanding of language around them. Psycholinguistics is another name for this emerging field that promises to show how exactly we use language and why it is a skill unique to humanity.
